Currently, it’s a pretty much a one woman show over here, but with aspirations of growth and a fantastic community to rely on.
Hello! My name is Jes. I am the executive director here at Wild Side of WNY in Pavilion, NY. In addition to being the primary care taker for the wild visitors here, I am the one who answers your calls, texts, social media messages – and I’m probably the one who will meet you to intake found wildlife in distress. I do most of the fundraising, all of the animal care, I clean the cages, I feed the babies… and I also have a family, plus a “regular” job that funds this volunteer work.
Please be patient with me. During busy seasons I may miss messages and I may need reminders to post updates on everyone over here, but I do my best to get it all done.
I started Wild Side of WNY first and foremost because I love animals, I love research, and I’m passionate about environmental conservation. I’m committed to learning and evolving each day, and striving to uphold the standards of care that the animals entrusted to my care deserve – enriching enclosures, carefully balanced diets, and as close to nature as I can emulate while they are in my care.
My goal is always a healthy, safe, return to wild for the wild visitors who need to, for one reason or another, make a stop here.
